Identify Your Community

Who We Play For screens communities of all kinds. Here is a list of communities we normally scan. However, we encourage all types of communities to set up screenings!

  • School screenings are needed to catch preventable cardiovascular disorders that can cause SCA in students without prevention. The majority of schools we work with are in this category as we look to identify as many conditions as soon as possible.

  • Sports leagues and teams can fall into any public entity, such as the Police Athletic League or City Leagues, as well as private entities, like AAU and other national or local associations/clubs.

  • Community health centers are a place where many gather and take part in activity. Examples of prime screening locations are the YMCA and other recreational centers.

  • Health clinics like your local pediatric offices and outpatient clinics are great places to hold screenings.

  • Gyms are a place where people are engaging in high intensity activities that could trigger a SCA event. Examples of places we could set up a screening are Gold’s, Planet Fitness, or any local fitness center.

  • Screenings can take place anywhere. Think about your workplace or other places you frequent and who a heart screening may benefit.

Common Communities We Screen

Find a Screening Location

Physical Setting - At Least 2 Private Rooms

We need at least two rooms with adequate privacy to screen. We have done screenings in tents, but those are forced to be smaller number of praticipants given the lack of space and privacy.

Confirm Your Committed Group

Amount of People - 25+ People

We ask event schedulers that they have at least 25 people who will need an ECG for us to host an event. We can host smaller group screenings depending on the location.

Who is the ECG Program Built For?

  • Coaches and Athletic Directors have contact with the most student-athletes of any other profession. We encourage coaches and athletic directors to organize events for their athletic departments that coincide with the student-athletes yearly physicals.

  • We work with many organizations and college athletic departments by providing their trainers with the equipment and expertise to manage the screening of their athletes before each season.

  • We can work with parents or students to coordinate bringing a screening to their school or club. If the advocate does not have the capacity to take on the screening responsibilities, we will help identify an administrator or point of contact.

  • Similar to our college programs, we can outfit local doctor’s offices with machines so they can provide ECGs on site and utilize our cloud-based system for interpretations for their patients.
