Several years ago, she was deeply touched by a couple of intelligent, vibrant and talented student athletes. They were diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia. Along with treating them for the significant distress the reality of this diagnosis created in their lives, Dr. Alfonso sought out to find additional support in the community for these young athletes. It was during this search that she came upon Who We Play For. She has been supportive of Who We Play For ever since.
